House Decor Style: Scandi Bedroom
Find your style and get inspired with my mood boards.
Go further and design your own space with my favorite products!
On the program this week, we have a Scandi bedroom!
I love to inject some Scandinavian influences in interiors, I don’t know why but it just resonates with me and I have noticed I come back to it often and often again. My preferences aside, Scandinavian interiors are generally speaking calming to the mind and the senses, and that’s why, consciously or unconsciously, they appeal to so many and don’t go out of trend.
So similarly to the other “House Decor Style” posts, I am going to take you through the various stages of the design process.
Concept Design
The idea of a calming space is our starting point here, we want to explore warm and cocooning vibes and avoid anything too stimulating for the senses.
To do so, dusty and neutral colours, light coloured wood and curves are perfect here.
I chose a sage green as the star of the show, as green by its association with nature is grounding and calming, perfect for a bedroom really. You could paint only one wall to create a focal point or the whole room and complement it with darker shades of green, off whites, dusty pink and dark grey via fabrics and / or plants.
Wooden elements such as the flooring and free standing furniture will add a warm touch, and I also like the idea of keeping in touch with nature with natural and plant-based materials such as rattan, jute, sisal, etc…
2. Sample Selections
My sample selections include pieces to give you ideas and options but of course, you will need to take into consideration what can be incorporated into your room and what can’t, particularly when it comes to dimensions and lighting.
To find and purchased stocked items that would work wonders to create a Scandi interior head over to my favorite products.
